Create reseller interface

New reseller interfaces are created on our new reselling platform Hostrivo. New reseller interfaces can no longer be created in the Datalix customer area.

With Hostrivo you can sell Datalix products (KVM servers, dedicated servers, gameservers, Nextcloud and S3 object storage) to your customers under your own brand and domain.

Go to the Hostrivo panel: panel.hostrivo.com

You already have a reseller interface at Datalix? The previous reseller interfaces are legacy interfaces. Please contact us via a support ticket so we can migrate your existing interface to Hostrivo.

1. Create a Hostrivo account

1. Open panel.hostrivo.com/register.
2. Enter your email address, a username (3 to 32 letters and numbers) and a password (at least 8 characters with upper and lower case letters and a number). First and last name are optional.
3. Click Create account. You are signed in right away.
4. Confirm your email address using the link in the verification mail. If no mail arrived, you can request a new one on the dashboard via Resend verification mail.

The Hostrivo account is a separate account and independent of your Datalix account. The connection to Datalix is made later with an API key (see step 3).

2. Create the interface

1. Select Interfaces in the sidebar and click Create interface.

2. Enter an Interface name (2 to 64 characters, you can change it at any time).

3. Under Fixed settings, choose the currency of your interface.

   Important: The currency is set once at creation and cannot be changed afterwards.

4. Click Create interface.

The interface is ready to use immediately. It automatically gets a randomly assigned system address under Hostrivo (e.g. abcd2345.panelrelay.link). This address stays, even after you connect your own domain.

You can create up to 10 interfaces per Hostrivo account.

3. Link your Datalix account

To sell Datalix products, your interface is linked to your Datalix account with an API key.

Create the API key at Datalix

1. Sign in at Datalix and open API key.
2. Click Create new key.
3. Enable the option Hostrivo API key. Such a key can only be used by the Hostrivo platform and is useless to anyone else if it ever leaks. This option cannot be changed later.
4. Do not enable the options Read-only or Scoped. Hostrivo needs to be able to place orders and renewals with the key.
5. Create the key and copy it. In the key list it is then marked with a Hostrivo badge.

Enter the API key in Hostrivo

1. In Hostrivo, open your interface and switch to the Datalix tab.
2. Paste the key into the API key field and click Link account.
3. The status changes to Linked. The key is stored encrypted and never shown again.

The costs of your customers' orders are deducted from your Datalix credit, so make sure your Datalix account has enough credit.

Each interface is linked on its own, so you can also run different interfaces with different Datalix accounts.

4. Connect your own domain (optional)

Without your own domain, your interface is reachable at its system address. If you want to use your own domain, open the Domains tab. It has two sections:

• Panel domain: the address your customers use to sign in, e.g. panel.example.com. The API runs on backend.panel.example.com automatically.
• Frontpage domain: the address of your website, e.g. example.com. www.example.com is set up automatically as well.

Create the DNS records

Click Add domain and enter the domain. Hostrivo then shows you under DNS records exactly which records you need to create at your DNS provider. For a panel domain panel.example.com these are:

For a frontpage domain, the records for the domain itself and www. are required instead of backend.. If the wizard also shows AAAA records, you can create those as well.

Please note:

• Always copy the values exactly as shown in the wizard.
• Only A records are supported, no CNAME records.
• Do not use a Cloudflare proxy. The records must be set to "DNS only", otherwise the check fails.
• The TXT record confirms that you own the domain.

Check and certificate

While the wizard is open, Hostrivo checks the records automatically every few seconds. You can also start the check yourself with Check DNS. If the wizard is closed, the records are checked again every hour. Depending on your DNS provider it can take some time until new records are visible.

As soon as the records are correct, an SSL certificate is issued automatically. This usually takes under a minute. The status changes from Waiting for DNS to Issuing certificate to Active. After that, your panel domain becomes the main address of the interface.

5. Set up the interface

The page of your interface has further settings, among others:

• Design: logo, favicon, accent color and the look of your interface. Logo and favicon are uploaded directly (up to 2 MB per file), no external hosting needed.
• Mail: sending via the Hostrivo mail server or your own SMTP server, including a test mail.
• Payments: your own payment providers, e.g. Mollie, Stripe, PayPal or bank transfer.
• Billing: your invoice details, tax settings and payment terms.

Open interface takes you directly into the admin area of your interface. There you decide under Offers which products you sell at which prices, and manage customers, orders and your team. The available products are taken automatically from your linked Datalix account.
